POSTO CHICKEN
Ingredients

  • 500 gm chicken pieces 
  • 4 medium sized onions (made into a paste) 
  • 4 green chillies 
  • 2 tbsp Posto (poppy seeds) paste 
  • 1 tbsp Cashew paste
  • According to chicken amount/5 tbsp of whole garam masala (cinnamon stick,cardamoms,cloves) 
  • 3 tbsp of ginger garlic paste 
  • Salt to taste 
  • 5 Tbsp mustard oil 
  • 1 tsp chilly powder 
  • 1/2 tsp coriander powder 
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
Procedure

Marinate the chicken with ginger garlic paste, lemon juice and red chilly powder, and keep aside for at least an hour if not more. Heat a kadai and put oil to heat, put the whole garam masala to it.
Now add the onion paste,fry until they get a golden brown hue.
Add coriander powder, cumis powder and stir a little. Then add the posto paste and fry cautiously. Be careful about not burning the posto.
Then add the complete marinated chicken along with turmeric powder and salt.
Stir properly and let it cook for 15-20 minutes on low flame until oil starts to emerge from the chicken.
Now add the cashew paste and add water on how much gravy you desire. (Personally i haven't added any water). Then let it simmer until the chicken is soft and tender.
Your POSTO CHICKEN is ready, garnish as you may like.
