Well this time moving away from self made home recipes i'll be guiding you all through some best delicacies of Kolkata and the best place to enjoy it.. 
To be honest this article hasn't been written by me, rather its written by the person with whom i shared the above mouth watering dish!
To start with the various delicacies and the best place to have them what else to start with other than a wonderful plate of Biryani that also in the birthplace of it in kolkata "Shiraz"!!

Virgin Long Island

Ingredients:

  • sugar
  • coca cola
  • lemon juice
  • ice
  • tea leaves 
  • water
  • rock salt

Procedure:

Heat a pan and pour in some water in it, as it starts to boil, pour some sugar and let it dissolve.
Now put in the tea leaves and give it a stir and remove the contents from the heat.
Now filter the contents using a mesh strainer and let it cool completely.
now crush some ice and put in a glass put little bit of rock salt in it, along with lemon juice
and pour 1/4 of the glass of the cooled down tea.
Stir to give it a mix. Now add the chilled COCA COLA (or any cola beverage) to it,
You can put in some more ice cubes if you want. And garnish with lemon slice.
Your VIRGIN LONG ISLAND is ready to be cherished.

VIRGIN MOJITO

Ingredients:

  • ice cubes
  • pudina pata(mint leaves)
  • rock salt (bit nun)
  • sugar
  • mountain dew/or any colorless beverage
  • lemon juice
  • lemon slice for garnish

Procedure:

Take the pudina leaves, some ice cubes 2tbsp of lemon juice and a pinch of rock salt in a grinding beaker, grind them properly.
Using a mesh strainer, filter the contents properly.
Pour mountain dew in a glass add 3-4 tbsp of the filtered contents add little bit of sugar and mix properly. add some more ice cubes if you want.
Garnish with some mint leaves and slice of lemon.
Your Virgin Mojito is ready to drink!!

MURG MUSALLAM


MURG MUSALLAM RECIPE

Ingredients:

  • 500 gms chicken
  • 1 tbsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tbsp garam masala powder
  • 1 tbsp red chilly powder
  • 1/2 tbsp turmeric powder
  • 2 large onions made into paste
  • 1/2 cup tomato puree
  • 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup yogurt
  • Salt to taste

Procedure:

Marinate the chicken with half the ginger garlic paste, red chilly powder, turmeric powder and yogurt. Keep aside for an hour. Then take a kadai and heat ghee in it. pour the marinated chicken and fry on low heat for around 10 mins. Keep aside the fried chicken pieces.
Now heat oil in the same kadai if you want. and cumin seed to if followed by the onion paste. Fry till the color change to a light golden brown hue. then add the remaining ginger garlic paste stir a little and add the tomato pureed. Let it cook for a while.
After the contents have thicken a little add the fried chicken pieces to it and add little bit of red chilly powder if you want. Add salt according to your taste.
Cook for around 10 mins then add the lemon juice to bring in some acidity flavor to the dish..
Simmer until the chicken is soft and tender.
Your MURG MUSALLAM is ready to eat. garnish as you may like..

POSTO CHICKEN
Ingredients

  • 500 gm chicken pieces 
  • 4 medium sized onions (made into a paste) 
  • 4 green chillies 
  • 2 tbsp Posto (poppy seeds) paste 
  • 1 tbsp Cashew paste
  • According to chicken amount/5 tbsp of whole garam masala (cinnamon stick,cardamoms,cloves) 
  • 3 tbsp of ginger garlic paste 
  • Salt to taste 
  • 5 Tbsp mustard oil 
  • 1 tsp chilly powder 
  • 1/2 tsp coriander powder 
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
Procedure

Marinate the chicken with ginger garlic paste, lemon juice and red chilly powder, and keep aside for at least an hour if not more. Heat a kadai and put oil to heat, put the whole garam masala to it.
Now add the onion paste,fry until they get a golden brown hue.
Add coriander powder, cumis powder and stir a little. Then add the posto paste and fry cautiously. Be careful about not burning the posto.
Then add the complete marinated chicken along with turmeric powder and salt.
Stir properly and let it cook for 15-20 minutes on low flame until oil starts to emerge from the chicken.
Now add the cashew paste and add water on how much gravy you desire. (Personally i haven't added any water). Then let it simmer until the chicken is soft and tender.
Your POSTO CHICKEN is ready, garnish as you may like.
